The Backbone service (ftbackbone.exe) in EMC AutoStart before 5.3 SP2 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a packet with a crafted value that is dereferenced as a function pointer.
The product receives input or data, but it does not validate or incorrectly validates that the input has the properties that are required to process the data safely and correctly.
