There is a reachable assertion abort in the function jpc_pi_nextrpcl() in jpc/jpc_t2cod.c in JasPer 2.0.12 that will lead to a remote denial of service attack.
The product contains an assert() or similar statement that can be triggered by an attacker, which leads to an application exit or other behavior that is more severe than necessary.
