In Wireshark 2.4.0 to 2.4.5 and 2.2.0 to 2.2.13, the IEEE 802.15.4 dissector could crash. This was addressed in epan/dissectors/packet-ieee802154.c by ensuring that an allocation step occurs.
The product receives input or data, but it does not validate or incorrectly validates that the input has the properties that are required to process the data safely and correctly.
