In Wireshark 2.4.0 to 2.4.5 and 2.2.0 to 2.2.13, the VLAN dissector could crash. This was addressed in epan/dissectors/packet-vlan.c by limiting VLAN tag nesting to restrict the recursion depth.
The product receives input or data, but it does not validate or incorrectly validates that the input has the properties that are required to process the data safely and correctly.
