Junos OS Evolved: ev.ops file may leak sensitive information

Description

A local, authenticated user with shell can view sensitive configuration information via the ev.ops configuration file. This issue affects all versions of Junos OS Evolved prior to 19.2R1.

Remediation

Solution:

  • The following software releases have been updated to resolve this specific issue: 19.2R1-EVO, and all subsequent releases.

Workaround:

  • Limit access to the Junos OS shell to only trusted system administrators with a need for access below the Junos CLI.
