Unvalidated input in the AccessPress Social Icons plugin, versions before 1.8.1, did not sanitise its widget attribute, allowing accounts with post permission, such as author, to perform SQL injections.
The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. Without sufficient removal or quoting of SQL syntax in user-controllable inputs, the generated SQL query can cause those inputs to be interpreted as SQL instead of ordinary user data.
