A vulnerability has been identified in Simcenter Femap V2020.2 (All versions), Simcenter Femap V2021.1 (All versions). Affected application contains a memory corruption vulnerability while parsing NEU files. This could allow an attacker to execute code in the context of the current process. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it reads from or writes to a memory location outside the buffer's intended boundary. This may result in read or write operations on unexpected memory locations that could be linked to other variables, data structures, or internal program data.
The product writes data past the end, or before the beginning, of the intended buffer.
