A privilege escalation to root exists in Eternal Terminal prior to version 6.2.0. This is due to the combination of a race condition, buffer overflow, and logic bug all in PipeSocketHandler::listen().
The product contains a concurrent code sequence that requires temporary, exclusive access to a shared resource, but a timing window exists in which the shared resource can be modified by another code sequence operating concurrently.
The product copies an input buffer to an output buffer without verifying that the size of the input buffer is less than the size of the output buffer, leading to a buffer overflow.
