A stack-based buffer overflow exists in Juplink RX4-1500, a WiFi router, in versions 1.0.2 through 1.0.5. An authenticated attacker can exploit this vulnerability to achieve code execution as root.
A stack-based buffer overflow condition is a condition where the buffer being overwritten is allocated on the stack (i.e., is a local variable or, rarely, a parameter to a function).
The product writes data past the end, or before the beginning, of the intended buffer.
