A buffer overflow allows a low privilege user on the local machine that has the EPM Agent installed to execute arbitrary code with elevated permissions in Ivanti EPM 2021.1 and older.
A heap overflow condition is a buffer overflow, where the buffer that can be overwritten is allocated in the heap portion of memory, generally meaning that the buffer was allocated using a routine such as malloc().
