A flaw was found in the Keycloak identity and access management system when Fine-Grained Admin Permissions(FGAPv2) are enabled. An administrative user with the manage-users role can escalate their privileges to realm-admin due to improper privilege enforcement. This vulnerability allows unauthorized elevation of access rights, compromising the intended separation of administrative duties and posing a security risk to the realm.
Workaround:
The product does not properly assign, modify, track, or check privileges for an actor, creating an unintended sphere of control for that actor.
